Jean-Luc Thunevin is the jack of all trades of the Bordeaux region, the man who overturned the Bordeaux hierarchy – and in the process also became the owner of a small winery in Pomerol.
With his Châteaux Valandraud, today a celebrated Premier Cru Classé in Saint-Émilion and with prices of CHF 150 per bottle, the successful self-made man and wine merchant has proven that it does not take hundreds of years to create a legendary château.
With the Clos du Beau-Père, Jean-Luc has realized an old, very personal dream. As a Pomerol lover like his wife, he was able to purchase the Château Ratouin with 2 hectares of vineyards and later another 2 hectares with the Vieux Château Bourgneuf. He named it Clos du Beau-Père in honor of his father-in-law, who means a lot to him.
