The new 100% Chardonnay joins the SON PRIM family. A wine dedicated to mothers. They make everything possible. Thank you, mom
This wine stands out for its straw yellow colour and its pleasant and attractive bouquet. Pears and peaches predominate. There are also some spices and nuts such as walnuts and hazelnuts. Coconut and butter announce its time in oak. In the mouth it is smooth, enveloping and fresh. The young tannins of the oak give it persistence and quality.
In the early 1990s, Jaime Llabrés planted a small plot of land with a mixture of vines, including Prensal, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot, to see how they would thrive in the climate and soil of Mallorca.
To make the wine from the first grapes of these different varieties, they used small stainless steel tanks with a cooling system, placed under a very large carob tree. Interestingly, the results were very satisfactory. The aging took place in barrels that were simply placed in the cool cellar of a garage in Palma.
By the mid-90s, the whole family was involved in planting new vines, including the young Jaime J. Llabrés, who now runs the winery. At the age of five, he began to discover the world of wine and grew as the vineyard grew. Today, he is in charge of customer relations and oversees the operation of the winery and vineyard.
The winery soon reached its limits. It became apparent that it would be better to build a new winery, which was completed in 2014, in the middle of the countryside, right next to the new vineyards. There is now enough space for fermentation and room in the cellar for aging of fine wines.
